Morrow Home Community is currently seeking an experienced part-time Gardener! This individual will be scheduled approximately 20 hours per week continuing through the fall season. Hours vary from early morning to evening. Wage will be determined based on level of experience.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Maintenance

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assistthe Maintenance Department in maintaining the grounds and flower gardens on the Morrow Home Community property.
  • Maintain grounds in orderly condition which may include sweeping and cleaning walks, watering and weeding assorted gardens, raking leaves, trimming shrubs, etc.
  • Maintain order and inventory of grounds materials.
  • Assist the maintenance department with various tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of high school preferred.
  • Experience in the Landscaping Industry. Wage will be determined based on experience.
  • Ability to work standing in a damp and often warm environment for 2-3 hours at a time.
  • Must enjoy working in an environment where elderly persons are present.
  • Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds and also be able to bend and lift at the same time, full range of motion of all extremities, ambulatory.
  • Must be able to provide regular and predictable attendance.

Morrow Home Community is currently seeking a part-time Cook and Culinary Aide to work in our quality long-term care facility. This individual will be scheduled approximately 28 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Hours vary from early morning to evening.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Culinary Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with meal preparation, ensuring temperature, taste and appearance of food meets expectations. 
  • Serve meals to residents and assist them as needed. 
  • Knowledgeable on therapeutic diets and altered diet textures and reasons why these diets may be required. 
  • Coordinates meal and dining room set-up and provides a friendly and welcoming dining atmosphere. 
  • Maintains clean and sanitary kitchen, storage, and dining areas. 
  • Follows policy and procedures to maintain food safety. 
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Must be able to provide regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must show respect for the residents and the residents’ dietary needs at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Completion of high school preferred.
  • Experience or adequate training and in-service in health care food service preferred.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand English at a 10th grade level.

This individual will be scheduled for approximately 15 hours per bi-weekly pay period. Hours may vary but are generally from 3:00pm or 3:40pm to 6:40pm or 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.

The Finance Assistant will work Monday through Friday on the day shift approximately 30-40 hours per week, depending on case load. This individual is responsible for the insurance and Medicare/Medicaid billing for the Nursing Home and Assisted Living residents.

  • Bill all Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living charges timely and accurately. Audit all assigned accounts to ensure appropriate charges for all services delivered.
  • Timely and correct application of all payments received.
  • Timely follow up with insurance companies on unpaid claims. Timely follow up with residents on past due private pay balances.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred; previous work experience accepted
  • Prior experience in geriatric, long term care, or assisted living preferred.
  • Extensive computer and software skills are required.
  • Must enjoy working with the elderly population we serve.

Casual Call Driver

CASUAL CALL DRIVER

Morrow Home Community is seeking applicants to transport residents to and from appointments and social functions as needed. This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Weekend and Holiday work may be possible. CPR and First Aid training is required.

BENEFIT ELIGIBLE: No

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling of hours will be established from appointments made for our residents by our transportation coordinator.
  • Preparing van for transportation; i.e. warm up in winter, air conditioning in summer.
  • Transporting resident to appointment, and sitting with them if family is not along.
  • Making sure paperwork accompanies resident to appointment and back to Morrow Home.
  • Picking up of residents at area health care facilities for admission or readmission.
  • Making sure resident is comfortable during transportation.
  • Escorting resident to their room.
  • Making sure van and/or car has at least 3/4 tank of gas when finished with transporting.
  • Alerting Maintenance for vehicle malfunctions.
  • Alerting Environmental Services Director of vehicles that need washing.
  • Ensuring inside of vehicles are clean, surfaces are dusted or vacuumed regularly, and vehicles are free of trash

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on our acceptability matrix.
  • Must be a high-school graduate.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed CPR and First Aid training.
