Morrow Home Community is currently accepting applications for a part-time temporary social worker! This individual will cover leave from approximately October 2021 through December 2021 and ideally would begin training at the beginning of September 2021 with flexible hours. This is a part-time, temporary position with a very flexible schedule (general office hours Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm). The preferred individual will be a BSW or MSW graduate of an accredited school of social work.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Social Services / Nursing Home Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the resident and family in the adjustment process.
  • Prepare social history, assessment, and social service Plan of Care for assigned residents and update as needed.
  • Provide regular interviews with residents as an ongoing means to assess and meet their needs. Address concerns of residents and their families as they arise.
  • Conduct tours and take applications for prospective residents.  Coordinate admissions to the facility

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred: BSW or MSW graduate or a student with coursework in social services and/or one year supervised social work experience working directly with individuals in a long-term or sub-acute health care setting.
  • Must enjoy working in an environment where elderly persons are present.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have good organization and time management skills.

Morrow Home Community is now hiring for a part-time reception position which requires working every other weekend and rotating holidays. The individual in this position will work approximately 16 hours per pay period (2 weeks) with the opportunity to pick up additional hours.

Morrow Home Community offers a competitive wage in addition to a 6 month wage increase for qualifying associates.

REPORTS TO:

Executive Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine receptionist and clerical tasks including:
    • Answering the telephone in a friendly and professional manner, and transfer the calls accordingly
    • Greet and direct visitors appropriately
    • Respond to questions and requests for information in a friendly and timely manner
  • Maintain effective public relations with the public, residents, and employees
  • Monitor and assist residents in providing a safe, caring environment
  • Accurately and efficiently handle resident personal funds

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience using a multi-line telephone system is advantageous
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using the Google platform (gmail, google docs, calendar, etc.)
  • Deal with basic accounting principles
  • Be able to work independently
  • Must enjoy working with people, especially the elderly, and have exceptional communication skills

Casual Call Driver

CASUAL CALL DRIVER

Morrow Home Community is seeking applicants to transport residents to and from appointments and social functions as needed. This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Weekend and Holiday work may be possible. CPR and First Aid training is required.

BENEFIT ELIGIBLE: No

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling of hours will be established from appointments made for our residents by our transportation coordinator.
  • Preparing van for transportation; i.e. warm up in winter, air conditioning in summer.
  • Transporting resident to appointment, and sitting with them if family is not along.
  • Making sure paperwork accompanies resident to appointment and back to Morrow Home.
  • Picking up of residents at area health care facilities for admission or readmission.
  • Making sure resident is comfortable during transportation.
  • Escorting resident to their room.
  • Making sure van and/or car has at least 3/4 tank of gas when finished with transporting.
  • Alerting Maintenance for vehicle malfunctions.
  • Alerting Environmental Services Director of vehicles that need washing.
  • Ensuring inside of vehicles are clean, surfaces are dusted or vacuumed regularly, and vehicles are free of trash

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on our acceptability matrix.
  • Must be a high-school graduate.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed CPR and First Aid training.
