Director of Recreation Therapy

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Recreation Therapy Director in developing, implementing, leading and evaluating the overall Recreation Therapy Program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental, psycho-social and spiritual needs of each resident.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate.
  • Experience in a geriatric recreation setting and/or in human relations area of work, is preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in leading group activities and have the ability to motivate people.
  • Must enjoy working with geriatric population, and maintain a good attitude and pleasant communication at all times.
  • Must possess the ability to relate well with people and be able to speak in front of groups.
  • Must be flexible and spontaneous in approach to activity programming.
  • Must be capable of learning computer data entry for activity documentation.

  • Knowledgeable about Therapeutic Diets and reasons a resident needs such a diet.
  • Assists with food and tray preparation.
  • Serves food to the residents and assists them as needed.
  • Maintains clean and sanitary kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
  • Assists in all phases of dining room and kitchen clean up.

Casual Call Driver

CASUAL CALL DRIVER

Morrow Home Community is seeking applicants to transport residents to and from appointments and social functions as needed. This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Weekend and Holiday work may be possible. CPR and First Aid training is required.

BENEFIT ELIGIBLE: No

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling of hours will be established from appointments made for our residents by our transportation coordinator.
  • Preparing van for transportation; i.e. warm up in winter, air conditioning in summer.
  • Transporting resident to appointment, and sitting with them if family is not along.
  • Making sure paperwork accompanies resident to appointment and back to Morrow Home.
  • Picking up of residents at area health care facilities for admission or readmission.
  • Making sure resident is comfortable during transportation.
  • Escorting resident to their room.
  • Making sure van and/or car has at least 3/4 tank of gas when finished with transporting.
  • Alerting Maintenance for vehicle malfunctions.
  • Alerting Environmental Services Director of vehicles that need washing.
  • Ensuring inside of vehicles are clean, surfaces are dusted or vacuumed regularly, and vehicles are free of trash

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on our acceptability matrix.
  • Must be a high-school graduate.
  • Must have satisfactorily completed CPR and First Aid training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Maintenance and Environmental Services Directors in ensuring that the building and grounds are kept in good repair. This includes the following:

  • Maintain outside grounds in orderly condition which may include sweeping and cleaning walks, watering and weeding assorted gardens, mowing lawns, raking leaves, trimming shrubs, snow and ice removal, etc.
  • Maintain a neat appearance throughout the entire Home by:
  • Scrub, mop, clean, wax, polish, shampoo carpets, and vacuum floors.
  • Maintain a safe environment while cleaning by using the proper signage (i.e. wet floor signs)
  • General Maintenance Tasks (replace light bulbs, clean/change air filters, empty waste baskets, collect and dispose of trash, wash windows, etc).
  • Be available for weekend and emergency on-call as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and know how to operate motorized (gas and electric) equipment proficiently and safely.
  • High school graduation is preferred
  • A previous successful experience in performing routine cleaning work or manual labor is preferred.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of and have experience with materials, methods, and equipment used in custodial work.
