JOB DEFINITION: The Morrow Memorial Home is a 99 bed skilled nursing, rehabilitation and long term care facility located in rural Sparta, WI. The Director of Nursing provides nursing administrative leadership and works collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team to ensure, promote and endorse the organization’s goals and Christian values of independence, dignity and comfort for our residents.  Morrow Home Community serves as a “Tangible expression of God’s Love.”

Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing’s responsibility is to direct the daily nursing care services of the Morrow Memorial Home in a professional manner using available resources effectively and efficiently to attain and maintain the highest level of care to residents in accordance with regulatory standards.

Essential Position Functions:

    • The Director of Nursing is responsible for the delivery of nursing services to include planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of each resident to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care.Successful experience required in long-term care, quality assurance, supervisory management, and Medicare/Medicaid.
    • Excellent clinical knowledge with in-depth knowledge of the long term care industry
      Responsible for ensuring adequate staff in number and ability to maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for each resident.
      The Director of Nursing keeps the facility in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
    • The Director of Nursing develops and evaluates with the health care team and administrator, resident care goals and policies in order to assure that adequate resources and services are provided to residents, reviews electronic medical records and makes rounds on an ongoing basis ensuring highest practicable care is being delivered.
      The Director of Nursing is responsible for keeping the nursing department within budget and ensuring conformance with standards of quality care, keeping the administrator up to date on financial concerns.
    • Participates in the budget process of the facility and maintains the nursing supply, equipment and nurse staff budgets.
    • Observes, mentors, and trains new and current staff including RN, LPN, CNA’s to facility’s programs, policies and procedures and holds staff accountable for duties assigned.
    • Keeps the administrator up to date on resident changes, staffing changes and service plan changes.
    • Excellent clinical knowledge with in-depth knowledge of the long term care industry
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Holds current licensure in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse and is in good standing with the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in demonstrated nursing experience is desired.
  • A minimum of five (5) years current nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management position, including experience with budgets, staff development, training and scheduling.  A minimum of four (4) years’ experience working in a Long Term Care/Rehabilitation Environment, geriatrics or other applicable Health Care fields. Experience as a Director of Nursing in a licensed nursing facility strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MDS process, state and federal survey, and CMS is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management situations.
  • Must be a team player, well organized, and flexible.
  • Experience with Microsoft programs; experience with ECS – American Data software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    HELP WANTED- PT RN/LPN Nurse (day shift) 

    Morrow Home Community – Sparta, WI

    $2000 sign on bonus: Morrow Home Community is now hiring for a Part-time every other weekend day shift RN/LPN position which requires working every other weekend and every other holiday, with competitive pay and shift differential pay.

    POSITION: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

    LOCATION: Sparta, WI

    BENEFIT ELIGIBLE: No

    Morrow Home Community is now hiring for a Full-time and Part-time CNAs, for all shifts.  This position requires the selected candidate to work every-other weekend and every-other holiday. Positions working more than 28 hours per week are eligible for benefits; in addition, we provide the Young At Heart Child Care facility on site M-F, with reduced rate for employee child(ren).
